Research Grant Committee shapes new exciting opportunities for ESPR members!!!
On Sept 9, the ESPR Research Grant Committee made up of Heike Rabe, Sven Wellmann, Frank van Bel and Daniele De Luca and chaired by Heike Rabe met in Paris. This was the first meeting of this new body with many important purposes.
The Committee assigned, after careful evaluation, the ESPR Young Investigator startup grants and the Cure& Care grant. These grants will be announced at the incoming EAPS meeting in Geneve.
The Committee also made decisions regarding the future opening of another two grants the ESPR Post-doc Grant and the ESPR Consolidator grant. These grants which are on two different levels (20K and 100K Euros) will be soon opened with the aim to promote pediatric and neonatal research significantly. The opening of these grants is made possible thanks to the collaboration with IPRF and SPR, the ESPR sister society.
Thanks to this collaboration and also the collaboration with Axon Publishing, ESPR is now able to offer many grants of different levels in order to help pediatric research. This is particularly important in an era of limited financial availability and when usually large grants are directed towards non-pediatric research areas.
From now on ESPR grants will be the following:
Cure and Care/ESPR grant (3000 €)
Young Investigator startup grant (7000 €)
Young Investigator exchange grant (IPRF) (for a total of 40000 €)
ESPR Post-doc grant (within 10 yrs from PhD or specialty) (20000€)
ESPR consolidator grant (100000€).
The Research Grant committee will take care of assigning the grants following strict standards of procedures including internal and external review of applications.
Stay tuned for further news about these exciting research opportunities!!!
